Before going in-depth on the Denver Nuggets’ upcoming free agents, let’s first look at their cap sheet.

The Nuggets declined to exercise Vlatko Cancar’s team option, making him an unrestricted free agent. The Nuggets will have 6 players going into free agency as they await player option decisions from Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Reggie Jackson.

Now let’s look at the Nuggets’ free agents.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope 6’5” - Unrestricted Free Agent

Primary Position: Shooting guard | Secondary Position: Small forward

Free agent status - KCP reportedly won’t pick up his player option and instead he’ll become an unrestricted free agent with a $22 million cap hold and full bird rights on the Nuggets’ cap sheet.

NBA Experience - Caldwell-Pope will be 31 when next season begins, with 11 years of NBA experience.

Latest Rumors - A cap space team like Orlando may be willing to offer a short term deal, such as $50 million, for 2 years. There was also a prior report of KCP seeing deals similar to Bruce Brown last season, in the $22.5 million range.

Justin Holiday 6’6” - Unrestricted Free Agent

Primary Position: Shooting guard | Secondary Position: Point guard

Free agent status - Holiday will be an unrestricted free agent with a $2 million cap hold and non bird rights on the Nuggets’ books.

NBA Experience - Holiday will be 35 when next season begins, with 11 years of NBA experience.

DeAndre Jordan 6’11” - Unrestricted Free Agent

Primary Position: Center

Free agent status - Jordan will be an unrestricted free agent with a $2 million cap hold and early bird rights on the Nuggets’ cap sheet.

NBA Experience - Jordan will be 36 when next season begins, with 16 years of NBA experience.

Vlatko Cancar 6’8” - Unrestricted Free Agent

Primary Position: Power forward in 2022-2023 season.

Cancar missed all of the 2023-2024 season after undergoing knee surgery. Rotowire has his estimated return to the court as August.

In the 22-23 season, Cancar played in 60 games for Denver, averaging 5 points, 2.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.6 turnovers, and 1.4 fouls in 14.8 minutes.

Free agent status - Cancar will be an unrestricted free agent with a $2.9 million cap hold and full bird rights on the Nugets’ cap sheet.

Cancar attempted 1.9 threes per game and made 37.4% of them in the 22-23 season.

NBA Experience - Cancar will be 27 when next season begins, with 5 years of NBA experience.

The Two-Way Free Agents - Collin Gillespie (6’1”), Jay Huff (7’1”), Braxton Key (6’8”)

The Nuggets have until June June 29 to tender Gillespie a $2 million qualifying offer, and both Huff and Key $1.8 million qualifying offers. If all three players are tendered qualifying offers, they’ll be restricted free agents.

Gillespie played in 24 games for Denver, averaging 9.4 minutes, 3.6 points, 1.6 three point attempts (39.5% accuracy), 1.1 assists, and 0.6 turnovers.

Huff got into 20 games for Denver, averaging 2.5 minutes of playing time. Key played in 20 games for Denver, averaging 3 minutes of playing time.
