Draft Roundup Volume 3: Zaccharie Risacher, Tidjane Salaun Spurs Workouts?
Here are the latest draft rumors and reports on the San Antonio Spurs involving Zaccharie Risacher, Tidjane Salaun, Rob Dillingham, and Boogie Ellis.
It’s been a week since the last Draft Roundup, but, before diving into the latest draft rumors and mock updates, you can read Volume 1 and Volume 2 from the previous 2 weeks.
Let’s get into Volume 3!
Zaccharie Risacher Spurs Workout
Three days ago, NoCeilingsNBA on X tweeted that Risacher was going to have a workout with the Spurs this week.
Right now Risacher is mocked to go first overall to the Atlanta Hawks, and in the few mocks where he’s not first, he’s being projected at second.
Perhaps the Spurs are looking at packaging the 4th and 8th picks to move up, as was suggested last week, or, maybe they’re looking at Risacher in the slim chance he falls to 4th.
You can read my full scouting profile on Risacher below:
Boogie Ellis Workout
Boogie Ellis worked out for the Spurs, according to Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express News.
Ellis is a 6’1” guard from USC who is only on one mock at 58. Ellis averaged 16.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1.8 turnovers, and 1.4 steals in 33.7 minutes last season. Ellis attempted 7.2 threes per game and made 41.8% of them.
Ellis’ NBA comp on Bleacher Report is Isaiah Joe of the Thunder.
If Ellis goes undrafted, perhaps he could be a player the Spurs look at for their Summer League roster.
Tidjane Saluan Spurs Workout
According to Jonathan Wasserman of Bleacher Report on June 7, Tidjane Salaun was reportedly going to have a workout with the Spurs.
Salaun has been moving up mocks, with his mock average now being 9th. He’s projected to go as early as 5th or late as 13th on mocks.
Thursday I wrote a full scouting report on Salaun, in which I mentioned how he could fill a team need (backup power forward), while also having plenty of upside since he won’t turn 19 until August.
More Spurs Interest in Devin Carter
Last week, there was a report about the Spurs having interest in Devin Carter. June 7, Wasserman also reported the Spurs are high on Carter.
Carter’s mock average is 11th right now, with mocks having him being selected anywhere from 5th to 15th.
Carter is the next prospect I’ll be writing a full scouting report on.
Rob Dillingham to Complete Combine Activities, but Little Interest from Spurs?
Tuesday Jonathan Givony of ESPN reported Kentucky guard Rob Dillingham will complete his combine activities that he missed last month due to an ankle injury.
Dillingham has been falling on mock drafts over the last month, with his mock average going from 7th to 12th.
According to Wasserman Thursday, his reporting indicates the Spurs aren’t likely to draft Dillingham.
League sources believe the San Antonio Spurs aren't likely based on what they're signaling to agents. We're hearing teams prefer bigger positional prospects.
Here is my full scouting report on Dillingham:
First Green Room Invites
Tuesday Givony wrote about the initial 12 draft prospects who have been invited to the green room for the first round of the NBA Draft June 26.
Here is the list of names from Givony’s report.
Zaccharie Risacher
Alexandre Sarr
Donovan Clingan
Reed Sheppard
Matas Buzelis
Stephon Castle
Dalton Knecht
Tidjane Salaun
Ron Holland
Cody Williams
Devin Carter
Ja’Kobe Walter
Once Dillingham completes his combine testing, he should be receiving an invite as well, Givony wrote.
