In this Thursday evening edition of The Off Day, I wanted to go to the film and and look at HOW Sandro Mamukelashvili scored 34 points in just two quarters of play against the New York Knicks Wednesday.

Before diving into the film, according to the NBA’s stats site, ALL 7 of Mamu’s 3-pointers were logged as wide open, meaning the defender was 6+ feet away on each of his outside shots.

In the second quarter, Mamu shot 5-of-6 from the floor, including going 3-of-3 from outside. He also collected 7 rebounds and dished 1 assist in just 8 minutes of play.

Postgame, Mamu sounded surprised he ended up missing the one shot in the game. I too could not recall seeing him miss a shot. However, after going back to the tape, the block by Mitchell Robinson was counted as his lone missed shot.
