New York Knicks 2024 Free Agents
OG Anunoby, Isaiah Hartenstein, Precious Achiuwa, and Alec Burks will be free agents this offseason.
Before going in-depth on the New York Knicks’ upcoming free agents, let’s first look at their cap sheet.
Along with the 7 players going into free agency, the Knicks have team option and non-guaranteed contract decisions to make with 4 other players.
Bojan Bogdanovic’s $19 million contract is partially guaranteed for $2 million, but the deal will fully guarantee for $19 million if he’s still on the roster after June 28.
The Knicks have until June 29 to exercise the team option on DaQuan Jeffries’ $2.4 million contract.
The Knicks have some time with Mamadi Diakite’s $2.2 million non-guaranteed contract. They have until January 10, 2025 to allow Diakite’s deal to fully guarantee.
If Sims’ team option is exercised, his contract partially guarantees for $651K. If he’s still on the roster after July 16, $1.3 million is guaranteed. If by August 16 he still hasn’t been waived, his full deal will guarantee for $2 million.
Now let’s look at the Knicks’ free agents.

NBA Experience - Anunoby will be 27 next season, with 7 years of NBA experience.
Latest Rumors - The starting point for a new deal for Anunoby is reportedly $35 million, and from there, the range could go up to his maximum salary for $42.3 million. The initial expectation was that Anunoby would re-sign with the Knicks, but new rumors came out Tuesday morning about how Anunoby isn’t thrilled with the Knicks’ initial offers. He could see offers from teams with cap space, such as the 76ers.
Precious Achiuwa 6’8” - Restricted Free Agent
Position - Big. Achiuwa played 55% of his minutes at the 4 with the Knicks, but he also played the 5 with the Knicks. In Toronto, he mainly played center.

Latest Rumors - The Knicks will have competition in trying to re-sign Hartenstein, with cap space teams like Oklahoma City and Orlando reportedly having interest in him.
Shake Milton 6’5” - Unrestricted Free Agent
Position - Wing. With New York, Detroit, and Minnesota, Milton spent a lot of time on the wing at the 2 or 3. With the Pistons, he played 30% of his minutes at the 1.
Free agent status - Milton will be an unrestricted free agent with a $2 million cap hold and non-bird rights on the Knicks’ cap sheet.
NBA Experience - Milton will be 28 when next season begins, with 6 years of NBA experience.
The Two-Way Free Agents - Charlie Brown Jr. (6’6”), Duane Washington Jr. (6’2”), Jacob Toppin (6’8”)
The Knicks have until June 29 to tender a $2.2 million qualifying offer to Brown Jr., a $1.8 million qualifying offer to Washington Jr., and a $1.8 million qualifying offer to Toppin.
By tendering qualifying offers, each player would become a restricted free agent.
Brown Jr. played in 8 games with the Knicks, averaging 4.7 minutes. Washington Jr. was signed and waived by the Knicks multiple times during the season, and he dealt with injuries in the G-League. He never logged a minute of playing time with the Knicks during the season. Toppin played in 9 games for the Knicks, averaging 4.2 minutes of playing time.
