Portland Trail Blazers 2024 Free Agents
Being a tax team, the Portland Trail Blazers don't have many players entering free agency this offseason.
Before going in-depth on the Portland Trail Blazers’ upcoming free agents, let’s first look at their cap sheet.
For a team that finished with the fewest wins in the Western Conference last season, the Blazers return a roster with 13 players on guaranteed contracts, when you include the 7th and 14th first round draft picks.
The Blazers only have 4 players entering free agency in Moses Brown, Ashton Hagans, Justin Minaya, and Ibou Badji. They have upcoming decisions to make on 3 players this summer, to determine if those 3 players will become free agents.
Dalano Banton - Banton has a team option for $2.1 million that the Blazers will have to make a decision on. If the option is exercised, he’s partially guaranteed $217,533. If Banton is still on the team by opening night, $1 million becomes guaranteed. If he’s still on the team by January 10, 2025, the full $2.1 million is guaranteed.
Jabari Walker - The Blazers have until July 20 to decide if Walker’s deal for $2 million will become guaranteed.
Toumani Camara - Portland has until July 20 to decide if Camara’s $1.8 million will become guaranteed.
With the 3 players listed above on the roster, the Blazers have 16 players on the roster. They’ll have to either trade a player(s) or waive one of the 3 players from above before opening night in October, to meet roster requirements.
How far over the cap are the Blazers? Let’s say they let all their free agents walk and waive all players on non-guaranteed deals, they would still be $31.3 million over the salary cap and $900K over the luxury tax.
Now let’s look at the Blazers’ free agents.
Moses Brown 7’2” - Unrestricted Free Agent

Free agent status - Brown will be an unrestricted free agent with a $2 million cap hold on the Blazers’ books, with non-bird rights.

The Two-Way Free Agents - Ashton Hagans, Justin Minaya, Ibou Badji
Portland has until June 29 to tender qualifying offers to Hagans, Minaya, and Badji. By doing so, each player would become a restricted free agent to return on a two-way contract.
Should the Spurs try to sign any of the Blazers’ free agents?
