Questions for Projected Spurs Starters Entering the Season
Examining questions for each projected Spurs starter as a new season nears.
I’ve set a new calendar reminder for April 13, 2026. By that Monday, the San Antonio Spurs’ regular season will have concluded, meaning the Spurs will either be preparing for a play-in or playoff game, or they’ll be looking toward the NBA Draft Lottery to see where their next pick will land.
Around that time of April 13, when the Spurs’ regular season has ended, I want to come back to this piece you’re about to read, because by that date, we’ll have some answers for the questions I’m about to ask.
I’ve prepared some questions for each Spurs player for the upcoming season. In this first piece, we’ll look at the questions for the projected starters, De’Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle, Devin Vassell, Harrison Barnes, and Victor Wembanyama.
Let’s begin with Wemby, who is about to start his third NBA season.

Should he be able to stay healthy this upcoming season, Wemby is once again the overwhelming favorite to win DPOY for this upcoming season at -200. Oklahoma City Thunder big man Chet Holmgren has the second-best odds at +650.
Will Wemby make his second All-Defensive team?
Wemby made the All-Defensive First Team in his rookie season, and if he’s able to secure the DPOY this upcoming season, he should once again be able to land on the All-Defensive First Team.
Will Wemby make an All-NBA team?
