Spurs Waive Jalen McDaniels
Wednesday the San Antonio Spurs announced the trade for Jalen McDaniels and a second round pick. Following the trade, the Spurs waived McDaniels. Now what roster moves can the Spurs still make?
Here are the details of the trade from the Spurs:
Spurs acquire: Jalen McDaniels, 2031 Kings second round pick, cash considerations
Kings acquire: Protected 2025 second round pick (via Chicago)
Most of these details were initially reported on the day the trade was agreed upon.
The second round pick the Spurs are sending to Sacramento has a slim chance of ending up with the Kings. The pick is protected 31-55, meaning if the Chicago second rounder lands anywhere in that range come draft night, the Spurs will keep the pick. Should the pick land 56-59, then the Kings get to keep the pick.
Following the trade, the Spurs waived McDaniels, as expected.
This means the Spurs now have 20 players on their training camp roster. The Spurs have until Monday October 21 (4 PM CT) to add one more player to their training camp roster.
