The Spurs' 3rd Quarters Through 15 Games
One of the strengths in this early season for the Spurs has been their play in third quarters. What is going on in third quarters? What do the numbers say?
In their win over the Oklahoma City Thunder Tuesday, the San Antonio Spurs outscored the Thunder 33-20 in the third quarter, to get some separation from OKC and change momentum in the game.
That wasn’t the first time the Spurs have played their best basketball in the third quarter, and statistically speaking, it’s been their best quarter this season.
The Spurs go from being a Bottom-10 team by Net Rating in every quarter until the third. After halftime, all of a sudden the Spurs turn into a Top-5 team on both ends of the floor.
So this brings us to today’s question - what is going on in the third quarter for the Spurs this season?
