Toronto Raptors 2024 Free Agents
Immanuel Quickley and Gary Trent Jr. are key free agents going into free agency for the Toronto Raptors, but the Raptors also have to decide whether Bruce Brown will become a free agent too.
Before going in-depth on the Toronto Raptors’ upcoming free agents, let’s first look at their cap sheet.
The Raptors will have 5 players entering free agency July 1, but that number could go up to 7 players depending on what decisions the Raptors make with Bruce Brown and Javon Freeman-Liberty.
The Raptors have until June 29 to exercise Brown’s $23 million team option. The Raptors are expected to exercise Brown’s team option and look to move him in a trade during the offseason.
Freeman-Liberty’s contract is partially guaranteed for $100K if he’s waived. By July 23, the partial guarantee increases to $150K. By opening night, his contract is partially guaranteed for $800K, and if he’s still on the roster by January 10, 2025, Freeman-Liberty’s deal will fully guarantee for $1.8 million.
The Raptors can go in all sorts of directions this offseason in being able to be a cap space team that can open anywhere from $29.7 million to $41 million in room.
Or, the Raptors can exercise Brown’s team option, keep Quickley’s cap hold, and operate as an over-the-cap team with access to the non-tax mid-level exception of $12.8 million and the bi-annual exception of $4.6 million.
