Utah Jazz 2024 Free Agents
The Utah Jazz have 6 players entering free agency July 1. If the Jazz want to open more cap space, they could have up to 9 players entering free agency.
Before going in-depth on the Utah Jazz’s upcoming free agents, let’s first look at their cap sheet.
The Jazz head into free agency with 9 players on guaranteed contracts, when you account for the 10th pick and 29th pick. Even though Lauri Markkanen is on a non-guaranteed contract, there’s no way the Jazz would waive him, so the Jazz technically have 10 players on guaranteed deals.
The 5 upcoming free agents written about below are Kira Lewis Jr., Talen Horton-Tucker, Kris Dunn, Luka Samanic, Micah Potter, and Johnny Juzang.
The Jazz have decisions to make on 3 players with non-guaranteed contracts:
Omer Yurtseven - Yurtseven’s contract guarantees for $2.6 million if he’s still on the roster past January 10, 2025.
Darius Bazley - Bazley’s contract will partially guarantee for $400K if he’s on the roster after July 25.
Kenneth Lofton Jr. - Lofton Jr.’s contract partially guarantees as well for $400K if he’s still on the roster beyond July 25.
With Yurtseven, Bazley, and Lofton Jr. on the team, the Jazz have a roster of 13 players with $33.2 million in cap space.
The Jazz can open up to $38.1 million if they waive those 3 players on non-guaranteed contracts.
