After reviewing the rosters of the Utah Jazz, Washington Wizards, Charlotte Hornets, and New Orleans Pelicans to determine which players from those teams would best fit with the San Antonio Spurs through trade or free agency, let’s shift our focus to the Brooklyn Nets.

Here’s the Nets’ upcoming cap sheet for this offseason:

The Nets are projected to be able to open the most cap space this offseason. If they just renounced their cap holds for unrestricted free agents, they’d easily open $28.7 million. If they renounced cap holds for all free agents except Cam Thomas and Day’Ron Sharpe, they’d open $50.6 million. The Nets have just eight players on guaranteed contracts, but half will be first-round draft picks, with the Nets holding the 8th, 19th, 26th, and 27th first-round picks in the 2025 NBA Draft. Brooklyn has decisions regarding four players with team options: Keon Johnson, Jalen Wilson, Tyrese Martin, and Drew Timme. They have Maxwell Lewis on a non-guaranteed contract, and then they have to decide whether to make Ziaire Williams, Thomas, Sharpe, Reece Beekman, and Tyson Etienne restricted free agents.

After going through the Nets’ roster, let’s see which free agents or realistic1 trade targets the Spurs could look at from Brooklyn’s roster.
